About Us: The Army of Lightness [AoL] has been a large and active Guild since November 2006. We are primarily a PvE Guild with a touch of PvP as more members are beginning to enjoy competitive play, however we do not require any one wishing to join us be at Masters Level for PvE or PvP. We strongly believe and enforce the philosophy that it's a game meant to be played with as many friends (both new and old) as possible. Hero's and henchmen will get you through where you're travelling but you can't experience the fulfilling adventure as it is with a live party exploring through all the nooks and crannies in-game. The interactions of live players are what our members and recruits seek when they call the Army of Lightness home. We are not afraid to try new things, win lose or fail, because each attempt simply broadens everyone's experience.

Brief History The Army Of Lightness was founded 16-Oct-2006 by Neo as its first Leader. Leadership soon after passed to Vogo who ran AoL successfully first as a small Guild with big ambitions to then a big Guild with even bigger ambitions as the Alliance Lead Guild. Many changes Vogo and his team put into place with recruiting, talking with people, Guild events, Alliance Events, and yet never losing sight of two things; 1. it's a game for fun and 2. there are real people behind the toons so be kind to everyone. With life knocking at his door, in 2008 Vogo passed the torch to Akroma, who had been a strong force in the Guild and Alliance with his help and willingness to pitch in as needed (not to mention insane online times). Time passed, new friends and Guilds found their way into the AoL Alliance. Fast forward to 2010 when Akroma began serious college work for a better future. The AoL torch passed to Kiera as she was cut from the same cloth as the three who came before her. We're now in 2011, who knows what will be added in here but one thing is certain, there will be more to come since AoL is not going anywhere, her people are her heart and soul. Titles, ranks, and all that are just the window dressings on what really matters- having a vibrant place for all within to call home and feel an important part of.

Our gaming philosophy is simple:

Respect: Respect yourself and your fellow gamers. Others actions or words when inappropriate, should not be yours- hold yourself to a higher standard.

Teamwork: Work together as an integral part of the Guild to accomplish all that we set out to do. Together, we as a team are unstoppable.

Help: Knowledge is power but it's more powerful when you share with others. From lending a hand on missions you may have done your first day in Guild Wars to helping someone get their vanquishing title, being helpful shines the light on just how good and skilled you really are.

Fun: This is a game and we all play for enjoyment, laughter, and good company. Because of the firm belief that Guild Wars should be played with live people on the team as much as possible to increase everyone's gaming enjoyment and experiences, we are proud to be the head of a full Alliance with other like-minded Guilds.

The never ending aim of the Army of Lightness is not the sheer quantity of members, but rather the quality of these members. We seek kindred spirits who are hungry for being part of a team, have an excellent sense of community, and are willing to work towards common goals whether it's vanquishing, helping others, or hosting Events. Our Guild Leader and Officers are strong, knowledgeable, and experienced players who never hesitate helping, offering advice and or guidance, and most importantly they believe in the Army of Lightness and each other.

Members of the Army of Lightness from the person who just began playing last week to those who've been in Guild Wars since its' inception all have one thing in common. They are proud to call the Army of Lightness home and know when they're online, they're never alone and will always be able to find help, give help, or roam as part of the Army of Lightness Team.

AoL will be in GW2 as well.

We seek active, mature, fun and interesting Members. There is no age requirement at this time as we base all decisions on people's actions as opposed to how old they are. Feel free to whisper any of the Officers listed below in-game for more information. Be advised our rules are simple- no spamming, scamming, begging. Keep sexist, derogatory, or hate remarks out of both Guild and Alliance Chat. We all swear occasionally, BUT don't go overboard as no one cares how many creative ways you can swear, it is still stupid

and you will be asked to stop immediately. Courtesy, Respect, and Honor amongst Guildies and Allies.
